This Bachelor project with the title “Photoshop composing in relation to cosplay” covers the relevance of editing a composing in Photoshop and the importance for the cosplay scene. It discusses why an ordinarily taken cosplay photo is often insufficient to represent the character and the associated world in which it is set. Accordingly a Photoshop Composing was created as a final product to exemplify the topic.

In order to realize the project, members of „Batch Eight“, a fire team of the 501st Legion were photographed in the course of a cosplay photoshoot. The costumes of the 14 cosplayers are based on the movie characters of the antagonistic faction “First Order” of the third Star Wars trilogy. The assignment, in addition of taking photos on location, was to create a Photoshop composing inspired by the artwork “The Ascent / The Descent” by digital artist Kyle Wright.
